Patat Restaurant

Eating out in the City Centre these days is a truly cosmopolitan experience!
Patat Restaurant is one of the exciting eateries situated in the heart of Cape Town at the new Church Square with its trendy cafés and restaurants. The famous Company Gardens, Castle, the shopping mecca of St Georges Mall, Greenmarket Square and the new Rhodes Mandela Square are within walking distance.
The clean lines in black and deep red resonate the Art Deco style of the newly renovated building. Full-length glass doors add to the atmosphere, creating an inside outside, al fresco-type café atmosphere.
The mood is gentle and it's the perfect venue for conversation. The restaurant with bar, serves a fusion of modern and traditional food. Styles are taken from the country’s vast Malay, Dutch and Portuguese heritage.
The food consists of sophisticated buffets that are rotated daily, as well as an alternate menu. Each buffet has an enchanting element of patat (sweet potato). Daily specials are on offer for lunch and dinner.
Since the restaurant forms part of the Cape Diamond Hotel, languages from all over the world can be heard in muted tones from tables around you.

Downstairs there's a funky, avant-garde cabaret venue, light-heartedly called Gatta Patat, where you can wine and dine, while enjoying top South African music and theatre.
Rooftop barbeques for small groups can also be arranged where guests are greeted by a breathtaking view of Table Mountain as they relax in the rooftop Jacuzzi.
